The Bird Cake

For Kate’s 24th birthday, she wanted something simple and pretty. Since it’s a spring birthday and I would be shipping the cake out to California, I baked her a fruit cake (good for shipping) and carefully packed the sculpted birds and flowers from marzipan with a printed instruction guide for re-assembly.
